USA fights Sirex Wasp The U.S. State of North Carolina has just issued its own Declaration of Exterior Quarantine for (Sirex) European Wood Wasp, which became effective on the
24th June. This has followed several years of research after a single
Sirex wood wasp was discovered in the State of New York in 2004. Since
this time the pest has spread to other areas in the Northeast U.S. It is expected that talks involving the USDA-APHIS, NELMA, state governments and other organisations will be held in the near future.
Inka has spoken with key personnel within the North Carolina Department of Agriculture and we are advised that our current export certification still applies. However, we are assured that we will be updated should any changes occur. (July 02)

Top Quality! We are delighted to advise our customers of Presswood Pallets & Composite Blocks (Euroblock) that earlier this year our Dutch factory appointed a specialist KAM Manager; responsible for assessing incoming raw material quality, in-process and finished quality, as well as environmental and H&S matters. While these issues have always been carefully monitored, it is expected that, with advanced developments in analysis procedures and enhanced design innovations, fine improvements may be made in the manufacturing methods to further improve performance of our products. get
supplies delivered to affected areas of the Asian Tsunami by providing
free Presswood Pallets. Since the pallets have full ISPM15 certification

wish to acknowledge the assistance of MSD Distribution Ltd of Wickford
in delivering the pallets without charge. PRESSWOOD® now a registered Trade Mark The
word 'presswood' is now a registered Trade Mark.
This, we believe, distinguishes our pallets from any other types of pallet
and provides protection from any counterfeits that may appear in the future. New size Presswood Pallet A
new size
of Presswood Pallet is now available - 1140 x 760mm - Ref.
F76. This has been purposely designed for companies wishing to export
on a size similar to the Euro-size pallet. The slight reduction in size
means that three pallets will fit across an ISO container, used predominantly
for deep-sea shipping. Further details can be obtained by contacting us. ISPM15 Regulations for Australia ISPM15
is being implemented in Australia from 1st September. While this permits
the use of treated timber pallets and dunnage, AQIS have confirmed to
us that these regulations will run alongside their current regulations.
This simply means that exporters using Presswood Pallets can continue
as before without problems. Latest news from America ISPM15 is due to be implemented in America in the next few months. However, in the meantime they are encouraging exporters to pack according to ISPM15 regulations. All the latest information can be found at http://www.aphis.usda.gov/ppq/swp/ Inka welcome their new SW Stockist Inka introduce another new Stockist China clamps down on wooden

A brand new Presswood Pallet size has arrived. It is 1140 x 1140mm which is ideal for ISO containers. This means that Presswood Pallets are even better for export applications as they can be shipped anywhere in the world without special treatments. At present, regulations are in place for exports to Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Taiwan, China, Mexico, Brazil, Argentina, Chile, India, South Africa, Canada and the USA. By using Presswood Pallets our customers simply take the next pallet from the stack and include the appropriate certificate. This new size pallet means that companies shipping overseas will get a better fill inside ISO containers.

Emergency measures in force from 1 Oct, 2001:
From
1st October there will be emergency International Phytosanitary regulations
in force. This will cover the international movement of wooden packaging
from Canada, China, Japan and the USA. Complete measures will be in place
by March 2002. However, it is already accepted that Presswood Pallets
(and Blocks) will be exempt from special treatments or regulations.
A new Presswood Pallet has arrived. It is a Euro-size (800 x 1200mm) pallet which replaces the F8M and F8S style. While the F8M and F8S were popular, the design was almost 30 years old. The new pallet (see picture below) will replace the F8M and F8S pallet. The main modifications are a redesigned top surface for improved performance, and new shaped 'feet' designed to give extra strength. The new pallet also boasts recesses on each side to locate banding/strapping.
The
new reference for this pallet is F8LF-2, for the 900kg capacity pallet;
and F8LF-2S for the 1250kg version. All other specifications are as before
- as is the price!

We
are delighted to announce that there is a new stockist of Presswood Pallets
in Scotland. The Boxshop Ltd of East Kilbride will be

website - live link available via our LINKS page.
Export Regulations: We have been hearing of a rumour that is circulating which doubts the suitability of Presswood Pallets for Australian bound exports. This rumour is not true. However, we would ask that all exporters using the Presswood Pallet ensure that the export certificate is fully completed; paying particular note to make sure that there is a numerical link (usually the container number) between the container and certificate.
