Le Mans Series uses Presswood Pallets for final stage

The Le Mans Series (www.lemans-series.com) is a full season of endurance racing, with the the two category winners going forward to the Le Mans 24 Hour race. Having completed 5 of the 6 European races the final stage is to be held at Interlagos in Brazil. The logistics specialists DHL Global Forwarding selected our Presswood Pallets to meet ISPM15 requirements to ensure that there would be no delays at Brazilian Customs, as the schedule is demanding and timing critical. The F11 (1140 x 1140mm) and F76 (760 x 1140mm) pallets were chosen, as these allow full utilisation of container space, and were used by the teams to palletise wheels, spare parts, equipment, specialist fuels and tools. Of course, as Presswood Pallets are re-usable (and meet European import requirements) they can be used to get the teams & their equipment home safely.

Inka launch new Pallet Collar

We have recently introduced a new product to our range - The ECO-Collar. This exciting new alternative to timber and plastic collars is much lighter in weight and less expensive. The walls are made with a double thick corrugated board, which can be easily written on for fast and convenient identification; and the hinges are of plastic. This makes for a much safer product that can be used for internal applications or exported anywhere in the world without treatment. Download the PDF brochure here.

Bluestain mould causes problems

A recent NWPCA article highlighted an incident at the US Mexican border. A shipment with properly stamped heat-treated wooden pallets was blocked by Mexican Customs officials as the pallets were discoloured with mould. The fungal growth was simply caused through damp pallets and although it did not affect the heat treatment the truck was refused entry.

However, when the truck driver tried to re-enter the United Sates he was blocked by U.S. Customs. Stuck in limbo the driver was forced to destroy the pallets.

The American Lumber Committee is investigating the incident.
